Before children begin using 2Email, you should first edit the settings for the class or group. The default settings allow children to learn about email by communicating with the Purple Mash Practice Users but not to email each other. These settings also allow children to do the 2Respond activities, where they email the practice users to complete activities.
When communicating with the Practice Users, children also have the option to "switch" to one of these users and reply to their own emails. This will change their Avatar and give them access to their own copy of a fictional character's Inbox, from where they can send emails to other Practice Users or to themselves.
Notifications are sent via the Purple Mash Alerts when children create emails that need approval or when they report an email for being inapproriate. These will be sent to any teacher assigned to the class. This can be altered using the Alerts functionality. For further details, see the Alerts section.
